27 March 2000

Well, it certainly has been a looong time since this place has been updated.  almost 8  months, to be exact.  In that time, so much has happened with all of the guys - Matt and Jeff have finally begun to gain recognition as the greatest tag team to hit the ring since the Heffernans, Jason is solidly in place with the Joey Abs character, Shane Helms and Shannon Moore have begun to shine in their so-bad-you-pop-for-it 3 Count gimmick in WCW, Otto Schwanz, Mike Maverick, and Cham Pain have all 'died,' and are now known as the Dupps in ECW (Bo Dupp, Jack Dupp, and Puck Dupp, respectively), along with 'The Enforcer' CW Anderson as a part of ECW's 'New Dangerous Alliance.'  Joey and Christian have been in and out of WCW and are again holding indie straps all over the place.  Toad has debuted with WCW and continues to work a style that makes Mick Foley shudder.  Foxy Lady has been all over the world, including a shot on Heat.   Willow the Wisp has been MIA since December of 1998, and John Henry went on a leave of absence from the business in November of 1999; it is unsure when, where, and in what capacity they will return, although he's been seen recently resurfacing in the rec.sport.pro-wrestling newsgroup up to his usual psychotic shenanigans, so who knows?  And naturally, the Serial Thrillaz tag team split up, since Mike and Shane work for different feds now....and in fact, the fed that this little group of guys was named for, OMEGA, has ended promotions for the forseeable future.

so why are we still here?

Well, the original *purpose* of this site was to kind of 'keep the band together,' so to speak, keep an archive or a testament to the incredibly fertile ground from which these individual talents collectively sprung.  So, the page has remained in place, albeit inactive, for the last several months as the various moving and shaking that has been a part of all of our lives was let to settle a bit.  This is still 'the' place for the earliest information on some of these guys, and indeed, I've still been getting  a couple of e-mails a month from fans wandering through, asking this question or that.  Of course, most of the guys now have 'Official' sites, which you will be able to find over on the Links page.  But really, this site stays up mainly because as wrestling FANS, first and foremost, we think it's nice for the rest of the fans out there to be able to have that 'way back when' look at the workers that are now becoming (as predicted) the New Generation of Professional Wrestling Legends.

what about all the neeews?

News is over on 1wreslting.com, and lots of other places all over the 'net.  When this site was originally put up, we tried to keep up with the day by day happenings and developments, but as those developments became more frequent, the time we had to tell you about them dwindled.  With this latest set of updates and changes, we will be moving all the older news updates over to an archive so that you, the fan, can get a look at how we were seeing things when they went down, but this site will no longer maintain any pretense of breaking news, etc.  The pics are all exclusive (and copyright their owners), and will remain up, with one change - the guy that produces them now has a copy of photoshop 5 and is able to embed copyright information into the pictures.  It seems that some jabronies out there like to steal pics without asking and then put them off as their own  News, folks, any pic you see here, the original photo is owned my one of us, and the only people that have permission to use them are the girls that run the official Hardy Boyz website (one of whom, Memery Miller, did the killer splash screen graphic here), and Wicked Walt, who takes care of things for SCW.  PERIOD.  We  have no problems releasing pics to be used, but people stealing them to put themselves over as being 'inside' or something is really annoying.  Please cut that crap out, thanks.

so now what?

Now, all the links (except the feedback page) are shut down for the time being, as the webmaster has decided to completely revamp the site again, to make it more reflective of it's current purpose - to provide a 'way back when' look at the most elite group of wrestlers and personalities in the sport today.   And besides all that, half the people here are working under different names now anway.  To that end, all the graphics and the layout is being completely redesigned.  So KEEP COMING BACK, and we will do out best to keep you informed as the major changes are finished via the various newsboards and groups that make up the internet wrestling community.

the website

Since it's inception on January 4th, 1999, the OmegaPowers website has continued to grow, improve, and innovate, having been visited by over 20,000 fans in the period 4 January 1999 to 4 May 1999.  In that time, three of our talents have been signed to work with the WWF.  In the continuing future, we fully expect that all of the vast talent of the OmegaPowers will continue to improve and grow in stature and reputation within the wrestling business.  There is no question among the elite of this business that the OmegaPowers will one day dominate this industry.  This website is their advance notice to the world;  'We are the future of professional wrestling.'

using the site

We've tried our best to make the site easy to get around so you can quickly find information on your favorite wrestlers.   Simply click on your favorite wrestler's name in the above area, and you will be taken to their home page here at the OmegaPowers site.  There, you will find news, biographical information, upcoming show dates, and pictures.  Simply return to this page to find another wrestler or page within the OmegaPowers site.  The two 'tag team' sites contain brief information about the teams themselves, and links to the individual member's pages.

Throughout the site, you will see small pictures.  Clicking on these pictures will take you to the full-sized versions of them.  Hitting the 'back' button on your browser will return you to the page you came from.
